I first experimented with a camera was while I was a child living at my parents house and using my father's old 35mm Canon. During the hot summer months, my brothers and I would wrangle up grasshoppers from the yard and feed them to giant spiders dangling from the underside of the deck. At the precise moment the spider attacked and spun the grasshopper, I riffled off as many frames as possible.
A few years later and being much more responsible, I was finally able to justify my first DSLR camera purchase by photographing retail product of which the labels I had designed. I've taken high school classes, college classes and community education classes on photography, and have continued learning more about technique and style from the Internet, photography magazines, library, and the bookstore.
I studied Art & Design at two different universities and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2004 from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Photography was always a part of my artistic life but never the center. I have dabbled in classes periodically over the years but really revived my love of image-making when I discovered High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography. I have since purchased and built (I love do-it-youself projects) more equipment and have moved to a more serious approach to my work. My love of image-making and pushing the limits of the possible, has led me to exploring the world around me and meeting new people.

The art is looking great, love what you are doing with your HDR photos. You have such an eye for finding a great scene and then enhancing it with your photography and computer skills. You're going to teach me how you do all this someday, right?

I wanted to say thank you so very much, the pictures turned out fantastic! I especially love some of those candid shots you took, I think they're my favorites. The different angles for some of the shots were great. I just love the way you mixed it upand took such a variety of photos.
